Processing & Importing
How do I process an episode?
Open the episode and click AI Process, then confirm. Credits are deducted only after processing succeeds. See What is an AI processing credit?
Processing runs in the background, so you can leave the page or close the app. The episode page shows progress while it runs, and the AI content appears when it’s done.
Some episodes are already processed when you open them, so you can start reading right away without spending credits. See Do I use credits to read episodes that are already processed?
Processing failed. What can I do?
When processing fails, the episode page shows the likely reason.
- Click Retry to process the episode again. Failed attempts don’t use credits.
- If retrying doesn’t help, click Report to send us the details, or email support@podwise.ai with the episode link.
Why does an episode say it’s no longer available?
If you see “This episode is no longer available from the podcast feed”, the publisher has removed the episode from their RSS feed, so the audio can no longer be played or processed.
When an episode’s audio link stops working for other reasons, Podwise automatically tries to refresh it from the podcast feed. If playback still fails, try again later, or report the episode to us.
I can’t find a podcast. How do I add it?
Most public podcasts can be found with search. If a show is missing, click Find more (or the + button) in your Library, or go to app.podwise.ai/dashboard/new , and paste one of these:
- A podcast RSS feed URL
- A YouTube channel or video link, such as
https://youtube.com/@channel-nameorhttps://youtu.be/video-id - A Xiaoyuzhou (小宇宙) podcast or episode link
Importing an RSS feed requires a subscription. Processing imported episodes uses credits as usual.
How do I import podcasts from another app with OPML?
Most podcast apps can export your subscriptions as an OPML file.
- Export an OPML file from your current podcast app.
- On the import page , choose Import podcasts from OPML and select the file.
- Review the podcasts found in the file. Choose which ones to import, set each one to public or private, and turn notifications on or off.
- Confirm the import.
The import continues in the background, so you can close the page. If some podcasts fail to import, you can retry them individually.
How do private podcasts work?
When you import a podcast or video, you can mark it as private. Only you can view and process private podcasts and their episodes, which is useful for paid or members-only feeds.
If a feed declares itself private, Podwise always treats it as private, even if you chose public.
How do I upload my own audio?
Go to the import page and upload an audio file. If you’re using the mobile app, you can also go to upload.podwise.ai to upload files from your computer.
- Supported formats:
.mp3,.wav, and.m4a - Maximum file size: 500 MB
- Credits: 1 credit for the first hour, then 1 more credit for every additional 30 minutes
- Processing: Starts automatically when you have enough credits
- Privacy: Uploads are private and visible only to you
- Storage: Audio files are deleted after 6 months. The transcript, summary, and other AI content are kept.
Uploads require a subscription. Uploaded episodes can’t be starred or added to Lists. To remove one, open it and choose Delete from the menu.
Does following a podcast process its new episodes automatically?
No. Following adds a podcast to your Library, and turning on notifications tells you when new episodes are released. Neither one runs AI processing or uses credits.
To get AI content for a new episode, open it and click AI Process, unless it’s already processed.
